What to wear at your therapy session?2018-10-16T13:53:57+00:00

Wear comfortable, stretchy or loose work-out type clothing that allows the therapist to access the area being treated. For example, if you have a knee injury, shorts would be ideal. If you have a shoulder injury, perhaps a loose shirt. You are welcome to change into comfortable clothing here.

Is Physical Therapy right for me?2018-10-16T13:48:23+00:00

Honestly, as our bodies age, everyone could benefit from advanced manual physical therapy in order to maintain mobility, flexibility, and proper alignment. Physical therapy is the most beneficial and often the most overlooked medical discipline. It combines the muscular relief of massage and the joint mobilization of a chiropractor, along with additional advanced techniques to move you toward recovery.  Immediate progress in one session, without multiple trips and multiples payments to physicians, specialists, imaging labs, massage therapists, and chiropractors.

If you are struggling with any of the following general complaints, then YES, physical therapy is right for you.

  • Ankle or Knee Injury
  • Back Pain, Tenderness or Stiffness
  • Hip Pain and Stiffness
  • Neck Pain and Stiffness
  • Pain on the bottom of your feet
  • Pain in hamstring, calf, groin or the Achilles tendon
  • Pins and Needles feelings in your legs
  • Sciatic Pain
  • Shoulder tension, tightness or pain
  • Strains/Sprains

Does Physical Therapy hurt?2018-10-16T13:49:58+00:00

Great question! PT is a very physical experience and treatments can be uncomfortable at times, but we will always aim to be as gentle as possible, causing minimal discomfort, and you can be our guide. Most patients agree that it’s a good kind of pain, like the stretch one would feel during an intense workout, and typically, patients are happy to have a little temporary discomfort to relieve the on-going pain and ailment they have dealt with on a daily basis.  We also can offer ice packs to reduce inflammation, soreness and speed recovery, and would recommend an ice pack for periodic use at home.

Do you take Health Insurance?2020-04-20T16:27:22+00:00

Yes, we take most insurances! Our Patient Services Coordinator will be happy to contact your insurance company to make sure we are in-network and to obtain the details of your physical therapy benefits. If you do not have physical therapy benefits or have already utilized them for the year, you can be seen as a self-pay patient.

Do I need a referral?2018-10-16T13:55:07+00:00

Florida currently allows direct access to outpatient physical therapy services for up to 30 days without a physician referral. That means you can schedule an appointment and begin feeling physical improvements immediately, without a formal referral!  If your treatment takes longer than 30 consecutive calendar days, you can obtain a referral/prescription for Physical Therapy from your medical professional, typically your primary care physician, but an MD, DO, PA, NP, Dentist, Podiatrist, or Chiropractor can write a prescription for therapy.

Can I bring someone with me?2018-10-16T13:54:30+00:00

Absolutely! If you are accompanied by a friend or family member, they may join you in the treatment room during your session or wait in reception if you prefer.
